Why Snow White is my all-time favorite Disney Princess

Snow White is a kind and gentle princess, with lips red as a rose and skin white as snow. After she's forced to leave her castle, she befriends the lovable Seven Dwarfs and finds her one true love.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved to watch Disney movies at home. However, one movie that stood out to me was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Disney's first full-length animated feature film. In fact, it is my dream to dress up as Snow White for Halloween or cosplay.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, released in 1937, is based on a German fairy tale of the same name by The Brothers Grimm. The important elements of the story include the magic mirror, the glass coffin and the apple laced with the Sleeping Death poison.

In 1989, the Library of Congress selected the movie to be added to the National Film Registry because it was deemed as "culturally, historically or esthetically significant."

A live action version of the movie is scheduled to be released on March 22, 2024 in the United States. Rachel Zegler will play Snow White, while Gal Gadot will play the Evil Queen.

Snow White is what started off the Disney Princess lineup, later providing the groundwork for other princesses, such as Cinderella, Aurora (from Sleeping Beauty) and Belle (from Beauty and the Beast).

Snow White has made other appearances, including Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Once Upon a Time, House of Mouse and Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Being the "Fairest One of All," Snow White's beauty is defined by her purity, kindness and compassion.

I can relate to Snow White in terms of her optimism and kindness. Both of these traits have guided her through the hardest times throughout her lifetime. I also loved her ability to communicate with the animals in the forest, especially understanding their emotions. All in all, Snow White is the "physical embodiment of positivity and innocence."

What I also like about Snow White's personality is that she is hard-working. That can be seen when she is forced by the Evil Queen to work as a scullery maid. Despite this, she is very efficient in her chores.

When the cottage of the Seven Dwarfs was unkempt and disorganized, Snow White did not hesitate to clean the household, with the help and assistance of the forest animals. I can also relate to this because I always make sure everything is organized and in place. I also make sure everything is nice and clean, especially my apartment bedroom.

The primary colors of Snow White's entire outfit are yellow, red and blue. Those are some colors that I really like, especially blue.

As for the makeup, her look is fairly easy to recreate. According to the magic mirror, her lips are red as the rose, her hair was as ebony and skin was white as snow. Her important and notable features are her rosy cheeks and a red lip. The eyes are subtle and not very strong or dramatic. Here is one YouTube tutorial by Emma Pickles. Here is another video by Kandee Johnson.

A lot of Snow White's traits continue to serve as inspiration for both heroes and heroines alike (especially in Disney films) to this day.
