I am a Guatemala-based independent journalist and writer, and a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a bachelors degree in Mass Communication.

I am Guatemalan-American and I am fluent in English and Spanish and have conversational proficiency in French. I enjoy learning languages and believe multilingual communication helps connect people and stories across cultures.

I am passionate about ethical journalism, objective reporting, and the principles of the First Amendment, particularly freedom of the press. I believe journalism serves the public best when it is accurate, impartial, and built upon careful research and verification.

 

I work best in organized and structured environments where precision and accuracy are important, and I strive to produce work that is both informative and trustworthy. As a journalist, I value curiosity and asking thoughtful questions to understand every story from multiple perspectives.

Writing, editing, and proofreading are among my strongest professional skills. I enjoy producing clear, well-structured content while ensuring accuracy in grammar, style, and factual reporting. My attention to detail allows me to communicate complex information clearly and responsibly.

Since 2009, I have enjoyed playing the viola, performing both as a soloist and in orchestras. Music has strengthened my discipline, collaboration, and commitment to continuous improvement—qualities that I also bring to my professional work. I have experience doing solo performances and performing in orchestras, including the SHSU Symphony Orchestra and the juvenile orchestra at the municipality of Guatemala City.

 

When I am not pursuing my journalistic, writing or musical endeavors, I enjoy playing with makeup, watching movies on Netflix, working out and baking desserts.
